Synopsis

The PLMJ Foundation presents the exhibition Kickflip by Pedro Calapez, as part of the OFF programme in the PLMJ Foundation space, curated by Miguel Amado and dedicated to projects by Portuguese and artists from the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP). With this exhibition, the artist evokes the subculture of urban extreme sports, such as skateboarding, to analyse the articulation between form, colour and built space, as well as to speculate on the relationship between the power of images and representations of the world. The exhibition includes painting and sculpture, with four works realised for the occasion and two new works in Lisbon.
