Synopsis

The second edition of Drawing Room Lisboa took place, a curatorial project focused on contemporary drawing and the medium of paper, which invited 25 international galleries to present the most relevant, challenging and representative works of their artists. The PLMJ Foundation was present with an exhibition of drawings from its Contemporary Drawing Collection (Diálogos / Duplos | Dialogues / Doubles collection of the PLMJ Foundation), curated by João Silvério.

Like the 2018 edition, according to the organisation, Drawing Room Lisboa also aimed to highlight the creative work of artists and the contribution of institutions that support contemporary drawing by awarding various prizes. Drawing Room Lisboa brought together 70 artists and 25 art galleries to dedicate five days to contemporary drawing at the SNBA - National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon. The PLMJ Foundation also participated with a sponsorship initiative under the New Drawing Talent Award - Drawing Room Lisboa & Viarco, which includes an artist residency at the Factory in São João da Madeira.
