Yonamine

Angola

Born in Luanda, Angola, in 1975, Yonamine lives and works in Lisbon. A self-taught artist, he was part of the Nacionalistas collective. He has been exhibiting since the mid-2000s, participating in various group exhibitions such as Réplica e Rebeldia (2006), the 1st Luanda Triennale (2007), and the 29th São Paulo Biennale (2010). Notable solo exhibitions include TC - Extraction | Trade | Cashtration (2024) at Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art, and PARLA MUTE (2022) at Galerie Michael Janssen, Berlin. His works are included in major collections, such as the Centre Pompidou and the PLMJ Foundation. He has undertaken residencies at the Delfina Foundation (2018) and Iwalewa-Haus (2012), and participated in the Ano Zero Biennale, Coimbra Biennale, in 2024.
