Tomaz Hipólito (b. 1969, Lisbon, Portugal) lives in Lisbon. He studied architecture. Among several awards and grants, in 2023 he was awarded First Prize at the Santander Art Award Portugal.

Since 2010, his work has been presented internationally in a wide range of contexts and places, including the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, Emily Harvey Foundation NY, WnD Seoul, Hunter College NY, Abrons Arts Center NY and La Tabacalera in Madrid.

He did some art residencies, such as the Gyeonggi Creation Center (South Korea) and Residency Unlimited (New York).

In Portugal, he has exhibited at institutions such as SNBA - National Society of Fine Arts, MNAC - National Museum of Contemporary Art, MAC/CCB - Museum of Contemporary Art, MUHNAC Lisbon, Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso Museum, CCA, Brotéria, Thalia Theater, Cristina Guerra Gallery, Appleton, Belo-Galsterer Gallery and Carpintarias de São Lázaro.

In the Azores Islands, at the Atlantis Festival, Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Center, Walk&Talk Festival, Carlos Machado Museum and Fonseca Macedo Gallery, among others.

Tomaz Hipólito’s work is represented in several public and private art collections.
