Sara Mealha (Lisbon, 1995) completed her degree in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon in 2017. In 2016-17, she participated in the Almeida Garrett exchange program with the University of Fine Arts of Porto, where she attended the Fine Arts course for one semester. In her work, she explores different media and approaches, seeking not to focus too much on a single medium but rather to reflect on which one, or which combination, is most suitable for each specific situation. She is primarily interested in image-making, regardless of the medium used. Her solo exhibitions include “Às nove a caminho” at Galeria Balcony, Lisbon (2019); “Tango” at Armário, Lisbon (2019); and “Primeiro socorro” at Travessa da Ermida, Lisbon (2018). Since 2016, she has regularly participated in group exhibitions, including “Cola Cuspo” (2018), “Panorama 2018” (2018), “Escritório” (2018), “A Dispensa” (2017), “Temps d’Images” Lisbon (2016), “PROGRAMA/Bregas” (2016), and the Paula Rego Prize (2016).
