Sara Bichão

Sara Bichão (Lisbon, 1986) studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, where she earned a degree in painting and a master’s in contemporary art. Her notable solo exhibitions include Lightless (Serralves Foundation, 2024, Porto), Before I Get Sick (MEEL, 2021, Lisbon), and Find me, I kill you (Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, 2018, Lisbon). She has participated in group exhibitions such as Désordres (Musée d’art contemporain de Lyon, 2024), Slow Gala (68 Art Institute, 2022, Copenhagen), and Performance 0 (BoCA, 2021, Portugal).
Her work is included in collections such as Fundación ARCO, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the PLMJ Foundation, the EDP Foundation, and the Figueiredo Ribeiro Collection, among others. She has received awards including the FLAD Drawing Prize (2021), a grant from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2014), and was selected for the artist program at Residency Unlimited (New York, 2022).
