Rute Rosas was born in Porto (1972), where she lives and works. She has a doctorate in Art and Design: Plastic Arts - Sculpture. Thesis / Artistic project: Self-censorship as a processual poetic agent of sculptural creation - projects, processes and artistic practices. Supervisor. Professor Enric Tormo Ballester (Professor at the University of Barcelona). Since 1999, Rute Rosas has been a professor at the Fine Arts Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP) - the first sculpture professor at UP in this field of knowledge. At the FBAUP, she created the subjects of Constructed Textiles, Art and Space and Scenography of the LAP - Degree in Plastic Arts, after 20 years of programming and teaching this year, 2019, in the subject Atelier II - Sculpture, 3rd year of the LAP. Since 1996, Rute Rosas has held solo and group exhibitions. She has also developed, collaborated and organised numerous events such as group exhibitions, workshops, courses, lectures, master classes and conferences in different countries. She has also worked in the development and production of set and costume design. She has won several awards and her work is represented in numerous institutions and private collections in Portugal, Spain, Italy, England, Canada and Brazil.
