Mário Cabrita Gil

Mário Cabrita Gil (Lisbon, 1942) studied Photography and Cinema at the Estúdio Universitário de Cinema, Lisbon. In 1970, he began his professional career as a cameraman, director of photography, and filmmaker while continuing to pursue personal projects. He is a member of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores and the Sociedade Nacional de Belas-Artes.
Selected exhibitions include: 2018, the international art biennial of Vila Nova de Cerveira; 2015/16, RES EXTENSA, OU CORPO MÁQUINA at the Museu da Imagem em Movimento; 2014, INTER SOMNIA INSOMNIA; and 2012, Outros Olhares sobre o Montijo.
His work is part of collections such as the Museum of Lisbon, the PLMJ Foundation, the José Saramago Foundation, the Contemporary Art Collection of Manuel Baptista, the Safira e Luís Serpa Collection, and the Museu da Imagem in Leiria.
