Márcio Carvalho

Márcio Carvalho (Lagos, 1981) holds a master’s degree in performing arts from UDK/HZT, Berlin, and a bachelor’s degree in performing arts from UFBA. He has received several grants and artist residencies, including Recherchestipendien (2017, 2019) and support from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2014, 2016). He is the author of texts on memory and art published on platforms such as Liveart.DK. His works have been presented in exhibitions such as the Thessaloniki Biennial and the 7th Berlin Biennial. Notable performances include History Will Be Kind To Me in Turku and Bergen. In addition to creating art, he is a curator and the founder of Hotel25 in Berlin. His works are part of collections such as the National Gallery for Contemporary Art, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, MAM-BA, and the PLMJ Foundation.
