Maja Escher

Maja Escher (Santiago do Cacém, 1990) graduated in Multimedia Art from FBAUL (2011) and completed a Master’s in Multimedia Art (2014), with Erasmus-funded studies at the University of East London. She studied Ceramics at Ar.Co (2016–2018). Her solo exhibitions include Pedras de Raio (Monitor Lisbon, 2024), Um Dia Choveu Terra (Galeria Municipal de Almada, 2020), and Medir Condições Atmosféricas (São Luís, Brazil, 2021), among others. She has taken part in group exhibitions such as Manifesta 15 (Barcelona, 2024), Mutaciones (Madrid, 2024), Bienal AnoZero (Coimbra, 2022), and Porto Design Biennale (2023). She has participated in residencies at Villa Waldberta (Munich, 2024), Cultivamos Cultura (2024), and Oficinas do Convento (2015–2018).
