Luís Nobre (Lisbon, 1971) is a visual artist and PhD candidate in Drawing at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL). He holds a degree in Visual Arts from ESAD.CR and has held several solo exhibitions, including O Desenho Expandido (Who, Lisbon, 2012), Cristal (Carlos Carvalho Gallery, 2011), Hold It! (Location 1, New York, 2008), and Between Heaven and Hell (National Museum of Natural History, 1998).
He has taken part in group exhibitions such as the 1st Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art (2007), Artisterium (Georgia, 2010), and Finisterra (Centro Cultural São Lourenço, 2008). He has participated in artist residencies at Location 1 (New York), Spike Island (Bristol), and Hweilan (Taiwan). His work is included in collections such as José Malhoa, Fundação PLMJ, and Budapest Gallery. He has received grants from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Institute of Contemporary Art, and Arts Council England.
