Luís Espinheira was born in Porto in 1979, where he continues to live and work. He holds a degree in Fine Arts – Painting from FBAUP and furthered his studies through workshops such as KORSAKOW cinema e internet and Vídeo e Arte Contemporânea at the Museu de Serralves. His solo exhibitions include Incomplete body at Espaço AC (Arte Contempo), Lisbon (2006); Ten thousand pictures of me and my girlfriend making love at Sala Poste-ite, Porto (2007); One minute desire at Galeria Pedro Oliveira, Porto (2008); Ando Parado at Galeria Pedro Oliveira, Porto (2011); and Olhar Raso at Sismógrafo, Porto (2014).He has participated in notable group exhibitions such as Prémio WANDSCHNEIDER at Anje, Porto; an independent group show at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków (2002); Bush Imperial at Pêssego Pra`semana, Porto (2003); GPO31031405 at Galeria Pedro Oliveira, Porto (2005); Short List Prémio Purificación Garcia at Circulo Bellas Artes, Madrid (2008); and Topologias at Casa da Galeria, Centro de Arte Contemporânea, Santo Tirso (2010).His works are part of collections such as the PLMJ Foundation, BESart in Lisbon, and COFF - Fundación Centro Órdoñez Falcón de Fotografia in San Sebastián.
