Lúcia Prancha

Lúcia Prancha (Lisbon, 1985) obtained her MFA from CalArts (USA) in 2015, after completing BA studies in Lisbon (2009) and MA in São Paulo (2012).
Her work has been exhibited at Sesc-Pompeia, São Paulo; Galeria Dinamo, Porto; LACA - Los Angeles Contemporary Archive, Los Angeles; Hordaland Kunstsenter, Bergen, Norway; Serralves Foundation, Porto; Galeria Leme, São Paulo; São Paulo Bienal; Museu Berardo, Lisbon.
In 2020, her film CASA DO SOL was screened at Cinemateca Portuguesa, INTERSECCIÓN - Festival de Arte Audiovisual Contemporánea, and 28th Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival. In 2016, her film SEBASTIAN, THE GHOST was screened at Les Rencontres Internationales Nouveau Cinéma et Art Contemporain in Paris and at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, and the 24th Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival.
In 2017, she was in residency at the Jan van Eyck Akademie in Maastricht, NDC. In 2020, she was a Visiting Artist Faculty at CalArts–California Institute of the Arts. She has a new experimental video: O Pão (2023), commissioned by FilmaPorto.
