Jorge Queiroz was born in Lisbon (1966), where he lives and works. He attended Ar.Co, the Royal College of Arts, London, and the School of Visual Arts, New York, where he lived for the next six years. In 2004, he settled in Berlin.
He took part in the Venice (2003) and São Paulo (2004) Biennales, the 4th Berlin Biennale of Contemporary Art (2006) and the Rennes Biennale, France (2016).
Jorge has exhibited at institutions such as the Pompidou Centre, Palais de Tokyo, FRAC Île-de-France Le Plateau (Paris); MUDAM (Musée d'Art Moderne-Duc Jean, Luxembourg); FRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine La MÉCA (Bordeaux, France), FRAC Haute-Normandie (Sotteville-lès-Rouen, France); Walhof Museum (Bielefeld, Germany); Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen (Rotterdam, Netherlands); the Serralves Museum (Porto), the White Pavilion of the Museum of Lisbon, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Carmona e Costa Foundation and the Zé dos Bois Gallery (Lisbon).
