Gabriela Vaz-Pinheiro (Penafiel, 1962) has a degree in Sculpture from the FBAUP, a European master's in Scenography from Central St. Martins College and Utrecht School of the Arts, a master's in Theory and Practice of Public Art and Design from Chelsea College of Art & Design, and a doctorate by Project from Chelsea College, with the thesis: Art from Place: the expression of cultural memory in the urban environment and in site-specific art interventions.
She was responsible for the art and architecture programme for Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture. She has been exhibiting since 1985 and has published several books and catalogue texts.
