Fernando José Pereira was born in Porto (1961), where he lives and works. He has a degree in Painting from the University of Porto and a doctorate in Fine Arts from the University of Vigo.
He has developed an artistic practice in which the use of video has been prominent since the 1990s. As a member of the experimental electronic music collective Haarvöl, he has more recently been exploring the relationship between video and music.
