Daniel Blaufuks was born in Lisbon (1963), where he lives and works. He has worked on the relationship between photography and literature, through works such as My Tangier with writer Paul Bowles. The relationship between the public and private, individual memory and collective memory, has been a recurring theme in his work.
Some of his exhibitions have been held at the Centro de Arte Moderna, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon; Palazzo delle Papesse, Siena; LisboaPhoto, Centro Cultural de Belém, Lisbon; Elga Wimmer Gallery, New York; and PhotoEspaña, Madrid. His book Terezín was published by Steidl, Göttingen.
