Céu Guarda

Céu Guarda was born in Mora and grew up in Lisbon, where she has lived ever since. She studied Photography and Painting at Ar.Co and the Lisbon School of Fine Arts, where she also developed video projects. Her career in print media began by chance, first as an illustrator, then as a photographer, and later as a photography editor. She has collaborated with various Portuguese and international publications in different capacities. Notably, she was a resident photographer for O Independente newspaper and the photography editor for Jornal i, where she was part of the founding team.
In parallel, Guarda has developed exhibition and editorial projects with other photographers and artists. She was a co-founder of the Kameraphoto Collective and KGaleria, where she worked for over a decade. She exhibits her work regularly both in Portugal and abroad and is represented in various collections. Currently, she works as a freelance photographer and teaches photography.
