Catarina Castel-Branco (Abrantes, 1956) graduated from the Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. She was awarded scholarships by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Dutch Government. Castel-Branco has participated in 28 solo exhibitions and over 70 group exhibitions. She represented Portugal at the 37th International Contemporary Art Prize of Monte Carlo in 2004.Her work is featured in museums such as CAM / FCG (Lisbon), Museu V. Moderne Kunst (Amsterdam), Museu Martins Correia (Golegã), and Museu Armindo Teixeira Lopes (Mirandela), as well as in private collections, including Clube 50 (Lisbon), the PLMJ Foundation, and Coleção Millennium BCP. Her work is also included in collections across Portugal, Brazil, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the United States, Japan, and Mexico.
