Beatriz Neto (Lisbon, 1999) works with issues of identity, historical narratives, territoriality, myths, and beliefs. She holds a degree in Multimedia Art from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon (Portugal, 2020), and a Master’s in Visual Arts from Malmö Art Academy, Lund University (Sweden, 2023). In 2024, she was one of the winners of the Millennium bcp Young Art Prize and the Geração Terra Prize, awarded by the Emerge Association/Convento da Terra. In 2019, she received the 1st Prize in the 9th Edition of the JOV’ARTE Biennial. She was awarded a FLAD Scholarship to participate in the FLAD Visual Arts Course (2024) at Córtex Frontal, in Arraiolos. She was also a grantee of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation with the “Training in the Arts Abroad” Scholarship (2022) and received a Merit Scholarship from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon (2020). Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions such as Third Eye (KHM1 Gallery, 2023) and Before It All (Municipal Gallery Vieira da Silva, 2022), as well as in group exhibitions like Fossa Abissal (Zaratan, 2024); Obscura Luz (Rua das Gaivotas 6, 2024); IX Edition of the Sintra Photography Prize (MU.SA, 2024); O Incendiário (Chapel of the Holy Spirit, 2022); Short Film Day Festival (Cinema Panora, 2021); New Students Exhibition (KHM2 Gallery, 2021), among others. Beatriz Neto's work is part of several private collections in Portugal.
