António Melo (Arganil, 1964) lives and works in Coimbra.
He studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. He holds a master's and a doctorate in Art History from the Lusíada University in Lisbon.
Since 1985 he has exhibited individually and collectively in venues and spaces in Porto (Museu de Serralves, Galeria EG, Galeria Pedro Oliveira, Galeria Canvas, Galeria MCO), Lisbon (Galeria Monumental, ARTE Lisboa - Project Room), Coimbra (Galeria Sete, Círculo de Artes Plásticas, Colégio das Artes da Universidade de Coimbra), Braga, Bologna, Vila Nova de Cerveira, Chaves, Paris, Lyon, Badajoz, Salamanca, Vigo, Warsaw, Palma de Mallorca, Aveiro and Cascais.
His work is represented in collections such as the PLMJ Foundation, the Ilídio Pinho Foundation, the Norlinda and José Lima Collection, and in private collections in Madrid, Paris and Los Angeles.
