Aníbal Lemos, originally from Salreu and currently residing in Portugal, is a university professor, photographer, and researcher in the field of photography. He earned a PhD from the University of Derby, England, in 2006, as well as a master’s in the Philosophy of Photography from the same institution, in addition to an MA in Photography, both recognised by the University of Porto. He was awarded the PrizeWinner award by the University of Derby and studied photography at the Escola Superior Artística do Porto, completing internships at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan and the City College of Manchester. He currently teaches and supervises master's theses at IADE - Universidade Europeia, Lisbon, and has previously taught at ESMAE, Polytechnic of Porto. He serves on the Scientific Committee of the Avanca Film Festival and is a board member of the Júlio Resende Foundation – Lugar do Desenho. Formerly, he was the director and curator of Galeria ImagoLucis in Porto (1989–2006).With a career spanning three decades, Lemos has participated in numerous individual and group exhibitions in Portugal and internationally, including in Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, England, Ireland, Mozambique, and the United States.
