André Gomes (Lisbon, 1951) is a visual artist and actor who lives and works in Lisbon. He holds a degree in philosophy from the University of Lisbon.
He has exhibited regularly since 1980, with his first photographic exhibition Alternativa Zero, organized by Ernesto de Sousa in 1977.
His work is part of private collections and national institutions, including the Serralves Museum, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the EDP Foundation, the Elídio Pinho Foundation, the Portuguese Center of Photography, the Camões Institute, and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Funchal, among others.
